© Lars PlougmannTechnology offers a long term growth prospect for investors and should continue to outperform the market over time. Unlike during the tech bubble, valuations in technology stocks now are more closely aligned with fundamentals, and technology mutual fund performance has been excellent for this reason. Zacks, the investment rating service, has ranked the top five rated technology mutual funds for 2011. Each has earned a #1 rank, which is a strong buy as these funds are expected to outperform their peers going forward.
The top five funds are as follows: Wells Fargo Advantage Specialized Technology A, Goldman Sachs Technology Tollkeeper A, DWS Technology A, Fidelity Select Technology, and MFS Technology A. By applying the Zacks Rank to mutual funds, investors can more easily find which funds outpaced the market in the past and are also expected to outperform in the future. The rankings are based on constantly updated analysis reports and earnings estimates.
